Children in War was an international cartoon exhibition organised through Toons Mag to address the effect of war on children. Artists from around the world brought different visual languages to a subject that is too often reduced to headlines.
The exhibition opened at Avistegnernes Hus in Drøbak, Norway, in September 2015, and was later shown in other Norwegian and Swedish venues. The work created a shared space for empathy, reflection, and difficult questions.
Its premise remains direct: cartoons can travel across borders, but they can also bring attention back to individual human lives.
