Ways to work together

One practice. Eight useful forms.

Choose a focused commission or combine disciplines into a larger editorial, campaign, or exhibition project.

Editorial & political illustration

Sharp, deadline-ready cartoons and illustrations for newspapers, magazines, NGOs, campaigns, and public-interest organisations. From political satire and social commentary to editorial spot illustrations, each piece is built to make a complex idea clear without losing nuance.

For editors, comms teams & publishers

Storyboards & visual development

Clear visual plans for film, animation, campaigns, presentations, and digital content. ARiF turns scripts, concepts, and rough ideas into expressive storyboard sequences that help teams align on pacing, composition, character, and story before production begins.

For filmmakers, agencies, production teams & communicators

Comics, comic strips & graphic storytelling

Original comic books, editorial strips, graphic narratives, and sequential illustrations developed from first concept to finished artwork. Suitable for publishing, education, campaigns, cultural projects, and organisations that need a story told with character and momentum.

For publishers, educators, cultural organisations & brands

Political cartoons & satire

Thoughtful visual commentary on politics, society, human rights, and public life. With extensive experience in editorial cartooning, ARiF creates work that is direct, intelligent, and memorable — designed to invite reflection and conversation.

For publications, NGOs, advocacy groups & exhibitions

Custom illustration & character design

Distinctive illustration and character work for brands, books, and editorial features — built in Photoshop, Illustrator, and hand-drawn media, and adapted to your voice rather than a house style.

For brands, publishers & founders

Animation & motion

Short-form animation — explainers, title sequences, and brand pieces — built with Cinema 4D, After Effects, and hand animation for a look that doesn't read as generic motion graphics.

For teams needing a story in motion

Website development & SEO

Clear, responsive websites built around strong content, straightforward navigation, and search visibility. ARiF has been developing websites since 2008 and has delivered more than 10 web projects, combining practical design, content structure, and on-page search-engine optimisation.

For artists, publishers, small businesses & cultural organisations

Exhibition curation & contest consulting

Advice and hands-on curation for organizations running cartoon-based awareness campaigns, contests, or touring exhibitions — drawn directly from a decade of running Toons Mag's own.

For NGOs, cultural institutions & festivals

The process

Clear from brief to delivery.

No mystery, no disappearing act. You always know what is being made, what comes next, and where feedback belongs.

BriefWe talk through what you're trying to say, to whom, and why it matters.
SketchRough concepts come back quickly, so we agree on direction before any polish.
RefineSelected concepts are developed in full, with room for one or two rounds of feedback.
DeliverFinal files, formats, and usage rights are handed over — clearly and on time.

The subject has weight

Social issues, editorial subjects, and brand stories with real stakes.

Practical details

Before we begin.

The essentials for planning a commission with confidence.

How long does a project take?

Single illustrations can often be completed within days. Storyboards, animation, websites, and exhibitions are scheduled around their scope. Your proposal includes clear milestones and a delivery date.

What should the brief include?

Share the audience, purpose, format, deadline, and where the work will appear. References are welcome, but a finished creative direction is not required — developing that is part of the collaboration.

How do usage rights work?

Usage is agreed before work begins and tailored to the project: editorial, campaign, publication, exhibition, digital, or broader licensing. Copyright and credit terms stay explicit.

Can we work across borders?

Yes. ARiF is based in Norway and works remotely with editors, agencies, publishers, cultural institutions, and organisations internationally.
